Czech Space Alliance

was founded in 2006 under the auspices of CzechTrade, the export promotion agency of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. It was registered as an interest association of legal entities during the process leading to the accession of the Czech Republic to the ESA Convention in 2008. It focuses on promoting the capabilities of its members and supporting their participation in demanding competitive international space public contracts with an emphasis on ESA. This is happening worldwide in the context of promoting the high-tech capabilities of the Czech Republic and establishing and developing relationships with other associations, space agencies and other entities involved in the development or use of space technologies and applications. The alliance consists of 22 companies from a wide portfolio of technology fields.

5M joins ESA mission to Enceladus

The European Space Agency (ESA) is preparing one of its most ambitious missions to date: a landing on the icy moon of Saturn, Enceladus. This 500-kilometre-wide moon became a scientific sensation after the Cassini–Huygens mission revealed massive geysers erupting from its south pole. These eruptions consist of water vapour and ice particles originating from a subsurface ocean, which is believed to be located beneath the ice crust. Spectroscopic measurements have also shown the presence of organic molecules and salts, making Enceladus one of the places in our solar system where extraterrestrial life is most likely to exist.
