“At HULD, innovation doesn’t stop at Earth’s surface — it extends all the way to orbit,” says the HULD team. “Our goal is to bring onboard intelligence and machine learning into space systems, enabling satellites to share data, analyze their surroundings, and make decisions in real time.” This approach reduces operational costs, increases reliability, and allows for more autonomous management of large satellite networks — crucial for future communications, Earth observation, and navigation missions.
Building on this milestone, HULD is now launching new initiatives in distributed computing and space cloud architectures. These space cloud computing technologies will allow data to be processed and shared directly in orbit, significantly reducing the time between data acquisition and its use on Earth. The result will be faster mission adaptability, greater autonomy, and more sustainable use of orbital resources.
This achievement reinforces HULD’s position among Europe’s leading innovators in digital solutions for space missions and highlights the growing contribution of the Czech space industry within the programs of the European Space Agency (ESA).
